Note that the wording for each node in the Spaceframe menu implies the direction of the spaceframe edges. Thus ‘Target A Dual Vertex to Target B Dual Vertex’ means that the spaceframe edges have their ORG (origin) in the Dual vertices of ‘Target A’ and the DEST (destination) in the Dual vertices of ‘Target B’. Likewise ‘Target B Dual Cell to Target A Primal Vertex’ means that the spaceframe edges have their ORG (origin) in the Dual cell vertices of ‘Target B’ and their DEST (destination) in the Primal vertices of ‘Target A’. Knowing this is important when it comes to tweaking the intersection properties at the hubs. The properties are set on the Spaceframe tab of the ‘Hubs and Struts’ window using the ‘ORG HUB INTR’ and ‘DEST HUB INTR’ tabs.

Strut & Hub intersection behaviour is controlled by the 'ORG HUB INTR' and 'DEST HUB INTR' tabs.

IMPORTANT: The following Strut & Hub intersection options only apply to the Edge type struts.

Hub Intersect

When 'Hub intersect' is checked, a hub intersection is formed between the quad-edge (ORG to DEST) and the circumference of the hub.

Project Strut ends to Hub intersection plane

When 'Project Strut ends to Hub intersection plane' is checked, a plane, parallel to the hub normal, is constructed at the intersection of the quad-edge and the circumference of the hub.

The ORG vertices of the strut are projected to the ORG intersection plane.

The DEST vertices of the strut are projected to the DEST intersection plane.

Hub Ingress

The 'Hub ingress' value moves the ends of the struts in or out of the hubs. Postive values extend the struts into the hubs; negative values shorten the struts out of the hubs. The Hub ingress value is measured from the intersection point of the hub and the quad-edge (ORG to DEST).

Synchronize DEST

When the 'Synchronize DEST' toggle button is lit, the DEST intersections are automatically set to the ORG values. This is the default behaviour for struts in the same Target. But for cross-target spaceframe struts, you might want to apply different intersection behaviors for ORG and DEST; in this case turn the toggle off and enter separate values on the 'DEST HUB INTR' tab.
